Efficiency of spare parts inventory management in manufacturing companies - results of research

Efficiency of production process support the decision-making process at both the operational and strategic level. One of the fundamental factors affecting the production efficiency is to maintain the continuity of material flow. It is therefore becoming increasingly important issue of spare parts used for maintenance. The literature review only confirms the complexity of the spare parts management efficiency in the production process. In this article, authors present results of research conducted to determine the degree of production efficiency utilization, with particular emphasis on the management and control of spare parts for maintenance.

Summary

LCA use to ecological evaluation of car tires

The objective of the paper is to run life cycle assessment of car tires in order to illustrate the structure of its environmental impacts, the share of certain life cycle phases in it and comparison of different scenarios for production and waste to support ecological evaluation of life cycle. Paper presents the clue of life cycle assessment is presented and the methods used to run it, and characterization of car tire life cycle and its phases, assessment methodology, its range and scope, and life cycle impact assessment. The last part of the paper includes interpretation of LCA results and key conclusions. The data used for characterization of production phase comes directly from car tire producer while the data to cover use and waste scenario phases comes from Ecoinvent 2.0 database. LCA was made in SimaPro 7.3.2 software with the use of ECOINDICATOR’99 methodology. The assessment was made for different product variants and different waste scenario.

Estimation of the current number of active professional drivers in Poland. Forecast of professional drivers by the 2020 and the number of drivers who should have, every year, periodic training. Discussion about possible reasons for the lack of an adequate supply of professional drivers in the labor market.
