“Specialties of Polish cuisine” is a collection of recipes typical of contemporary Polish cuisine. The recipes are well-known, time-proven, not very complicated, modern from the point of view of contemporary nutrition science, and take into account culinary inclinations of Polish people. The book includes various type of recipes, for dishes prepared both in daily routine and for special occasions.
 
Poland has a considerable culinary tradition developed over many generations. The country’s turbulent history resulted in many new dishes finding their place in Polish cuisine, further enriching the mix of flavors and aromas. Along with purely Polish dishes, there are dishes having their roots in other nations’ traditions, but prepared in the Polish way and anchored so deep that they have become regarded as Polish. At present the Polish cuisine keeps extending by adding new dishes to its repertoire; some of them even originating from remote parts of the world. For meals to be both tasty and healthy, their preparation should rely upon updated knowledge on the principles of feeding and nutrition. As a result, dishes preferred nowadays are less fat, lighter, more easily digested and include more vegetables. In our days tense and fast-paced daily schedules hardly favor true appreciation of food, but still it is worthwhile to care to prepare good quality dishes, tasty and visually attractive as this not only serves to quench hunger but also contributes to better mood, improves contacts between people and enriches human relationships.
The Authors, revoking to the classic and best-selling ”Polish Cuisine” (PWE) proposed recipes that may provide inspiration for culinary experiments, developing new treats, and help release invention in composing new or modifying traditional dishes.
