The network view can be successfully employed while investigating the role of relationships in deriving the competitive advantage of contemporary supply chains. Prior studies, when elaborating on the competitive advantage of supply chains, are mostly anchored in either the resource-based view or the dyadic view, as two complementary, but distinct concepts.

Consequently, there is a dearth of studies that elaborate on the concept of network competitive advantage as the extension of relational view. To address this gap, this study aims to combine the network view of competitive advantage with embeddedness as an important dimension of the social capital. In this study, the concept of structural and relational embeddedness has been employed to offer a systematic conceptual analysis of the network competitive advantages of triadic supply chains. Based on this conceptual reasoning, we then build key theoretical propositions that aid in deeper understanding of how the relationships are shaped by the social capital to derive the network competitive advantage of supply chains.

Sustainable development became a global strategy. Its basic challenge includes energy savings, limited air pollutions, effective use of resources, retaining human resources and the social agreement. The phenomenon of intensifying imbalance between socio-economic development and the state of natural resources is the source of making the sustainable development a buzzword now. The more so, because it is bringing the major risk of the economic, ecological, social and political instability.

The purpose of the paper is to indicate the main directions and possibilities of transport development in the light of sustainable development in urban areas. Amongst the causes of the development of sustainable transport, one can indicate new legal regulations, growing environmental awareness of the society, creation of new models of cooperation or the network effect.

The main purpose of the article is to estimate the possibility of reducing the external costs of transport by increasing the efficiency of transport processes in freight transport. Analyzes carried out by the author based on available statistical data and literature on the subject as well as research conducted by the author in the transport industry. The author also postulates verification of both the level of external costs of transport and the methods used for their estimation.

The dynamic development of a modern knowledge-based economy results with the necessity of shaping wages according to the difficulties of the performed work. Human work evaluation is a very complex and delicate problem. Determining the extent to which activities performed at individual workplaces differ, what is the value of required education and work experience, which qualifications should be included in wages, and to what extent the responsibility of work should be reflected by the remuneration, how to assess mental or physical effort or working conditions requires a strong methodological support. The "Quatro" method enables to allocate funds for remuneration according to the determined level of work difficulty. The research carried out of 920 workplaces in the domain of airport services logistics, where a full cross-section of positions requiring both general and specific qualifications can be observed, showed that the level of specific qualifications is significantly higher than the level of general qualifications, and criteria for assessing the difficulty of working in the environment must be expanded due to the presence of many potential risk factors. As a result, jobs requiring specific qualifications should be paid three Times higher than for jobs requiring general qualifications.

Sustainable development is a concept based on simultaneous implementation of economic, social and environmental goals. Its essence is to ensure existence and satisfy the needs of present and future generations. The main aim of this paper is to indicate the importance of environmental fiscal burdens for the sustainable development of polish transport companies. The main part of the study presents the results of a study based on CSO resources in 2009-2018. In order to determine the relationship between fiscal burdens and sustainable development, the Pearson linear correlation coefficients were determined and the estimation was carried out using the Classic Method of Least Squares for synthetic indicators describing the analyzed categories. The obtained results indicate that in the section Transport and storage there was a high statistical significance between the variables. It should therefore be stated that environmental taxes are one of the key determinants of the sustainable development of Polish transport companies.
