Innowacyjna Polska w Europie 2020. Szanse i zagrożenia trwałego rozwoju

Assuming that Poland intends to be an actor in Europe, strive to improve its place in the European Union’s economy and aspire to maintaining the values of European political and social model, it has to both extend and strengthen its efforts aiming at the country’s more intensive growth. This can be possible only by redirecting the economy, the society and the state onto the path of integrated development of the civilization of knowledge. This requires universal understanding of the necessity of fundamental social and economic transformation, i.e. profound systemic changes. Such a transformation may occur a source of enormous social and economic advantages, but if neglected, it may well become a source of serious difficulties instead, threatening the country to fall into deep structural underdevelopment. It is therefore essential first to know the challenge faced by country, then to analyze the ways and methods to meet them, to develop a long-term comprehensive strategy of structural changes in the ways the economy, society and state are functioning and finally, their consistent implementation, approved by the prevailing groups of the society. Broadly understood innovativeness is manifested in that there is an integrated system developed that works as a driving force of the country’s development – a system in which not only technological and product innovations are implemented, but most of all in which promotes the development and activity of well-educated, healthy society, aware of its rights and consciously demanding the same, as well as a sound, healthy and efficient state.
