Companies' Behaviour in the Internationalisation Process.
An Attempt to Search for the International Marketing TheoryIn the paper it was assumed that international marketing research should focus on an overall company's behaviour in the internalisation process. Only such a broad and complete scope of studies enables to look in-depth at key international marketing issues presenting them at an adequate level of abstraction. Taking into consideration author's earlier research projects and observations a number of options of companies' behaviour in the internationalisation process were identified based on 3 pairs of alternative characteristics: formal versus spontaneous character of the internationalisation process, company's openness versus closeness to cooperate, company's active versus passive role to build a network of relationships within international environment. As a result of a preliminary verification 4 types of companies' behaviour in the internationalisation process were proposed, namely: Type A -- Active, Type B -- Submissive, Type C -- Independent, Type D -- Distrustful pragmatist. It is planned to verify and/or modify these 4 general types of companies' behaviour within a major empiric studies (2000 companies). Based on the proposed conceptual framework a market and financial company's success is a main criterion of evaluation and assessment of a company's behaviour in the internationalisation process.

Degree of Internationalization of Polish Companies
Authors review the results of selected recent research studies of internationalization of Polish firms. Low degree of their internationalization with export as predominant foreign market entry mode is reflected in all of the studies. The industries with the highest shares of exports in total sales in Poland include electronic and automotive industry, shipbuilding and power engineering. Major export market for Polish companies is EU followed by Russia and other f. USSR countries. The firms involving in international business view their foreign target markets as medium-to-highly attractive. Resource limitations result in lower involvement in international business of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as compared to the big companies. Therefore the internationalization (mostly exports) is important element of business strategies of big companies and significantly less important for SMEs. Both SMEs and big companies declare to increase the share of exports in their total sales in the years to come, although SMEs seem to be less enthusiastic in their statements.

Metodologia segmentacji międzynarodowej
W miarę rozwoju teoretycznej koncepcji segmentacji rynku i jej praktycznych zastosowań, wykształciły się różne podejścia do badań segmentacyjnych. Szczególne znaczenie mają następujące modele segmentacji empirycznej: a priori, post hoc, hybrydowe (mieszane).

Methodology of International Segmentation
The objective of the hereby study is the proposal of manifold international segmentation as well as identification and systematization of possible model approaches to empirical segmentation. The complex international market segmentation concept was presented in the study. It covers four variants and integrates macro-, mezzo- and microeconomic levels. The macro- and mezzoeconomic segmentations are of vertical nature since they refer to all consumers inhabiting a respective group of countries or regions. On the other hand the microeconomic segmentation is called a horizontal one since the segment is understood as a group of consumers who are similar with regard to defined criteria but originating from different countries or regions. There were also assessed key conditions for the segmentation variant selection including: the level of market globalization of products offered by an enterprise and the type of carried out internationalization strategy. An attempt was taken up to identify and order fundamental approaches towards manifold international segmentation including "a priori, post, hoc" and hybrid models.

Pricing Concept and Context in Real Estate Market
Flats and houses are for customers the most expensive products they buy. Their price is the most important factor and determinant in consumer decision making process. Customers are ready to accept even high price, if they recognize functional and additional emotional value, the product can offer. Consumers' behavior in flat building market also depends on developers' marketing strategy including marketing concept of pricing as well. There are two groups of factors (external and internal) that influence pricing decisions. It is important to identify them in flat building market, because they have the specific nature determined here, first of all, by the complicated features of the product, its relatively high price and specific market segmentation. We can list and describe the internal organizational forces that influence pricing decisions: product (house or apartment) features, different types of costs (fixed and variable) contributing to the pricing decisions, long-term and short-term organizational objectives. External factors having influence on the pricing decisions are strictly connected with the demand, consumer's preferences, the number and the size of competitors within the flat building market. In Poland the demand is high and it"s still rising, the supply, in opposite, is limited by bureaucracy, lack of capital and lack of sites for new development, especially in towns. The serious competitor for developers is the aftermarket, where many flats and houses have good location and attractive architecture. Summarizing, we can say, that in flat building market the most decisive factors influencing pricing are high costs of product, the level of demand and consumers' preferences.

The Advantages of Market Channel Integration in the Agri-food Sector
The paper aims at presenting potential advantages stemming from the dissemination of vertical integration activities in the agri-food sector. It departs from a theoretical analysis of the subject and focuses on the consequences of the replacement of market transaction logic with complex network connections created on a long-term basis. Possible fields of co-operation between enterprises operating in a given sector are looked at. Special emphasis is put on vertically integrated supply chains, which may exploit new sources of competitive advantage, in particular related to interorganisational transfer of knowledge, marketing capabilities and innovations. The second part of the paper concerns the situation in the Polish agri-food sector. A lot of attention is paid to the role of vertical market channel integration in boosting the value added and establishing an export orientation. The third part deals with the specificity of main food-processing branches, i.e. dairy, meat, and food and vegetables, with an emphasis on the necessary adaptations stimulated by the integration into the Single European Market. The last part of the paper presents the results of our empirical study of SAPARD beneficiaries in the Lodz region. Participation in this programme constituted an important incentive for backward market channel integration in the agri-food sector.
