The employee’s right to the protection of family life in international law and European Union law: between declaratory commitments and effective safeguards
The article examines the regulatory framework governing the employee’s right to the protection of family life under international law and European Union law. Its objective is to assess the extent to which existing legislative instruments — in particular Article 8 ECHR, the ICCPR, ILO conventions, Council of Europe standards and EU secondary legislation — provide effective protection of workers’ family life. The article presents the principal legal regulations and the relevant lines of jurisprudence relating to the protection of the employee’s right to family life, indicating both the scope of state obligations and the nature of the rights conferred on workers.
