The aim of the article is to identify and define the roles of
the main stakeholders that influence the development of
multimodal freight transport. The conclusions are based on
the results of the ChemMultimodal Project implemented in
2016–2019 in the Central Europe region. The Project team
used quantitative and qualitative research methods: survey,
in-depth individual interviews and case studies. The
research findings on the example of the chemical industry
led to the conclusion of the need for a holistic approach in
the pursuit of increasing the significance of multimodality in
cargo transportation. It requires integration of strategies,
objectives and activities of key stakeholders. These
stakeholders include: institutions that define strategies and
regulations in the field of transport policy, plan and finance
investments at the EU, national and regional level, links of
supply chains, manufacturing and trade companies, logistics
service providers as well as clusters and chambers of
industries.

The objective of this article is to determine the level of
implementation and use of the 5S concept as one of the
methods of warehouse management optimization in BMI
Icopal production company. The main emphasis was placed
on the identification of processes in the implementation and
use of the 5S method by the employees of the storage
department. This is mainly due to a very dynamic
environment and increasing competitiveness, which forces
companies to systematically search for optimization at all
levels of functioning. Such solutions are particularly
desirable in the area of warehousing. Therefore, modern
companies more and more often decide to implement
modern methods, which not only cause improvements in the
functioning of the department, but above all build a
competitive advantage on the market through cost
efficiency.

Airport infrastructure affects on proper functioning of the
airport. A special role is played by the infrastructure at
military airport. This is due to the other wider range of
functions it performs. Many military airports despite a
thorough reconstruction of infrastructure, have kept its
basic layout not fully adapted to modern logistics functions
and tasks. This article analyzes the impact of the
distribution of selected elements of airport infrastructure on
the safety of operation of airport equipment. The analysis
also covered the exhaust emission characteristics of the
airport equipment of a selected military air base. As a part of
the formulated conclusions, an attempt was made to
improve the level of exhaust emissions of airport equipment
used in the army.

In the era of growing competitiveness and searching for
ways to better use the resources possessed, proper use of
drivers' working time is becoming an increasingly difficult
challenge for transport companies. In order to make
optimal use of drivers' working time, various concepts and
solutions should be analyzed, looking for proven solutions
that are adequate to current needs and conditions. This is
particularly difficult for companies that transport people
during night. Therefore, the purpose of the presented
article is to identify the basic problems in the
optimization of working time of professional drivers who
transport people at night in relation to the legislation of
the European Union and Poland. The study presents in a
chronological order the basic changes concerning the
professional activity of drivers, which took place within
the European Union and Poland legislation. The article
was created on the basis of the analysis of formal and
legal documents and normative acts binding in the
described area functioning within the legal system of the
EU and Poland. Materials contained in the article are the
basis for further research and reflection in the discussed
area.
