The book presents one of the components of Chinese culture which is the category of harmony from the point of view of elements that have an effect on both economic behavior – economic culture, and organizational / management behavior – management culture.

The perception of the category of harmony in China is far from homogeneous. It arises not only from the exceptionally diverse Chinese society due to ethnic groups existing in the PRC, generational affiliation, or the socio-economic situation of its inhabitants, among others, but also attributable to the living spaces that the harmony category concerns. The above factors contribute not only to everyday behavior and interactions but also to economic decisions. Harmony is an extremely broad term, starting from its perception as a dynamic balance, through the way of achieving physical and mental health, aesthetic manifestation, the way to tao, the Doctrine of the Mean, no interference between phenomena, sustainable development, a tool applicable for building a strong position in international space, up to the socialist dimension. The awareness of the category of harmony, its complexity and richness, including conditions and methods of application, offers, among others the orientation, and performing an outline of the reasoning of the people of the PRC existing in the world of many complimentary contradictions, as well as promotion of communication with its representatives, also on a business sphere.

The author tries to answer the following groups of questions: How is the category of harmony understood in China today? What are the factors affecting harmony in the PRC? Is harmony really still important in the life of a modern Chinese? And above all, is the pursuit for harmony evident in China in connection with economic activity?
