The problem of lability of employee involvement and weakening bonds with the organization, discussed in the monograph, increases in conditions of variability and uncertainty. This leads to numerous departures from the workplace and organizational losses in the area of human capital. The authors of the monograph attempted to solve the problem of employee retention using a situational approach to employee engagement management. The subject of research and analysis was a professional group of police, which, due to the socially important nature of the tasks performed, is particularly exposed to effects of employment instability. In research carried out on a large group of police officers using, among others, Hierarchical linear modelling showed a positive relationship between the situational leadership of managers and the stimulation of employee commitment. The results obtained open up space for broader research exploration.
