Urban logistics modelling is a book that discusses an opportunity to apply the theory and practical experiences in the area of logistics to urban infrastructure management. Its authors indicate how – thanks to modern logistical solutions – it is possible to increase the efficiency of functioning of a city as the whole as well as of its individual components, thereby improving the inhabitants’ life quality.

 

The book presents as follows:

 

• the essence and objectives of modelling or urban logistics,
• an original reference model of urban logistics in the context of improvement of inhabitants’ life quality,
• validation of an urban logistics model in selected cities of Poland,
• conditions for effective implementation of the reference model of urban logistics.

The team of authors included scholars and lecturers from the University of Economics in Wrocław, University of Zielona Góra and West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin. The Authors have been long dealing with issues in the areas of logistics, urban development strategies and project management.

Professor and since 1998 head of the Department of Strategic Management and Logistics at the Faculty of Management at Wroclaw University of Economics and Business. In the years 2010–2018 he was the vice-president, and since 2018 he has been the president of the Karkonosze Scientific Society. A specialist in logistics and supply chain management. Author and co-author of about two hundred scientific publications, including over a dozen books.
