Maciej Urbaniak in 1994 graduated from the Poznań University of Economics, where in 1997 he also received the degree of doctor of economic sciences. Since 1999, he is employed at the Faculty of Management at the University of Lodz, where in 2004 he received the degree of habilitated doctor. In 2011, by decision of the President of the Republic of Poland, he was given the title of professor of economic sciences. He made study visits to research centers in the United States (Texas University in Austin), Great Britain (The Nottingham Trent University), Spain (Santander University), and France (l'Université de Rennes, l'Université Jean Moulin / Lyon III). Author of over 200 publications in the field of relationship building in supply chains, quality management and logistics. He presented the results of his empirical research at conferences and research seminars in Austria (in Vienna), China (Beijing, Guangzhou), Canada (Winnipeg), Greece (Thessaloniki), Korea (Suwon), Norway (Stavanger), UK (Derby, Edinburgh, Nottingham), Spain (San Sebastian), Portugal (Lisbon), Slovenia (Maribor).
He is the head of the Logistics Department at the Faculty of Management at the University of Lodz.
